Join us in the fight to save South Africa’s rhinos. With their population dwindling due to rampant poaching driven by demand for their horns, we’re taking a stand. Together, we can combat the illegal trade and protect these majestic creatures for generations to come.
Its all about the Rhinos
South Africa is one of the last countries with a significant population of rhinos in the wild. However, more rhinos are being poached than are being born, resulting in a rapidly declining rhino population, with more than 5 000 rhinos poached in the last five years. This can largely be attributed to the demand, mainly from the Far East, for rhino horn, due to its supposed medicinal and aphrodisiac properties. As a result, there has been an explosion in the illegal trade of rhino horn.

Each participant in the uBhejaneX not only raises funds for rhino conservation, but awareness for the NPO’s mission. Donors and sponsors contribute through in-kind donations, direct funding or participant sponsorship.
In 2024 all conservation funds raised through the uBhejaneX MTB Challenge will be channelled to selected initiatives through Project Rhino. Project Rhino is a partner NPO and will provide uBhejaneX with financial and activity reporting, and media material (photographs and video footage) highlighting the impact of funding for social media and donor feedback.
Consider sponsoring a donation over R50,000. Nominate a project where 60% of your donation will be spent, with the rest supporting other Project Rhino initiatives. Make a significant conservation impact. Thank you for your support.
